New Jersey Assembly Bill 6108

Please hold off on hitting the panic button until the dust settles with this new bill passing through the state of New Jersey Assembly. As we all know bills start out one way and end up another way.

This bill is in reference to the apprentice, journeyman’s, and wiremen electrical contractors license requirements within the state of New Jersey. The wording for these requirements have been in the rules and regulations governing our industry from the beginning of the licensure process in the state of New Jersey. The new licensing practices have been buzzing around our industry for the past twenty years and some industries in the state have required training electricians (apprentice/ journeyman) to apply for licensure as a employment requirement. These individuals have been required to complete the 10-hour National Electrical Code update course as part of their license renewal requirements.
